About Rural Empowerment Initiative (REI)

Rural Empowerment Initiative (REI) is a registered Community-Based Organization dedicated to empowering women, youth, farmers, and vulnerable households through sustainable livelihoods, climate-smart agriculture, entrepreneurship, and skills development. Operating in Nyamira County and Nairobi County, we work to improve incomes, strengthen food security, and promote economic independence among underserved communities.

Through community-driven programs, REI supports women’s empowerment, youth development, sustainable farming, SME growth, and poverty alleviation initiatives. We believe that when individuals are equipped with the right skills, resources, and opportunities, they can transform their lives and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.

Our Programs

Women's Economic Empowerment

We empower women through entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, cooperative development, savings groups, and income-generating activities that promote economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.

Climate-Smart Agriculture

We support farmers with sustainable agricultural practices including avocado farming, banana farming, dairy farming, silage production, agroforestry, soil conservation, water harvesting, and climate adaptation solutions.

Youth Empowerment

We equip young people with practical skills, leadership training, mentorship, entrepreneurship support, and employment opportunities to help them become productive members of society.
